Kate Konrad Youth Choir Conductor Papillion(3-6th Grade)

Kate Konrad is the music specialist at Trumble Park elementary in the Papillion-LaVista Community Schools, where she teaches Kindergarten through sixth grade. She directs two extra-curricular ensembles: choir, and an Orff-Schulwerk Honors Ensemble. Before her time in Papillion-LaVista, she was an elementary music specialist in the Millard Public Schools. She has been on staff with Sing Omaha since 2014, directing the K-2nd grade “Children’s Choir” in Papillion, and co-directing the 3-5th grade show choir camp. She is excited to assume direction of the Sing Omaha “Youth Choir” in the Fall of 2017!

Kate earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in music education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and is a level-3 certified Orff-Schulwerk educator. She has also completed Kodaly level I, and looks forward to continuing this training. Kate is also actively involved in the Great Plains chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association and serves as Secretary of the board. Kate enjoys spending time with her husband, who is also a music teacher, and their two children, Daniel and Harper. She loves working with the children of Sing Omaha, and helping them grow in music.
