The audition process takes about 20 minutes and includes:
- Warm-ups (to assess tone color and vocal range)
- A familiar song (My Country ’tis of Thee, Amazing Grace, etc.) to assess musicianship
- Brief sight reading
- Time to answer any questions auditionees may have about membership.

About Sing Omaha Women's Choir
The Sing Omaha Women’s Choir debuted in October, 2012, and gave their first performance at Sing Omaha’s December performances of “A Christmas Fanfare”, after only seven short rehearsals.
This ensemble is open to women ages 18 and up, and strives to achieve artistic excellence in all they do. The choir rehearses on Monday evenings, and is a peer ensemble to the Master Chorale; performing on all four seasonal concerts, and participating in collaborative performances with professional and semi-professional vocal and instrumental ensembles in the Omaha area as opportunities arise.
Artistic Excellence
The Sing Omaha Women’s Choir has earned a reputation for their riveting performances of some of the greatest repertoire ever composed for treble choirs. They have performed as the keynote choir at state choral conferences on multiple occasions, and enjoy collaborating with professional instrumental ensembles. The singers enjoy the social connections of the choir, but remain uncompromising in their individual and corporate expectations for mesmerizing performances.
Beyond the Music
The sense of community is strong within the Women’s Choir, as we seek to cultivate meaningful relationships with one another; which elevates our ensemble’s artistic expression. We provide regular opportunities to socialize outside of the rehearsal, and encourage members to get to know one another.
This family feeling helps to create an efficient, effective, and fun rehearsal environment. We hope you will consider joining us!

I recently joined the Women’s Choir at Sing Omaha, and I could not be happier with my experience. They create beautiful opportunities for people to participate in the cultural/social betterment of the community. The people, music, staff, etc. are amazing.
I get my creative cup filled every Monday night singing in the Sing Omaha Women’s Choir. The relationships we build help us create passionate music and an experience that is unmatched. It is a musical experience you would not want to miss.
